A Greeting From Kim Yeolbang Do You Love the Holy Spirit Deeply? “Do you love the Holy Spirit deeply?” Do you love the Holy Spirit deeply? I love the Holy Spirit, the honored One, with all my heart. The Holy Spirit is my love, my joy, my happiness, my everything. I was empty-handed, and then I met the Holy Spirit, and my life changed completely. Without the Holy Spirit I would be nothing at all. Every single person must meet the Holy Spirit and enter into personal fellowship with Him. I taught my four children to live together with the Holy Spirit. Every morning when they opened their eyes, they would repeat after me, “Holy Spirit, good morning. Please help me again today. Holy Spirit, I love You.” When we left the house together and I said out loud, “Holy Spirit, let’s go together,” even the child who was just learning to talk would echo, “Holy Spirit, let’s go together.” It was amazing to hear them sound out one line at a time, “Holy Spirit, thank You. I love You,” and learn the language of faith that way. I could not get over it. Every one of them has a strong faith today. What is true success? People in the world measure worth only by what can be seen, but true success lies in an unseen, personal relationship with God. To believe in Jesus, who shed His blood for me; to set my hope on God, who made me; to live in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, who is with me — that is true success. Does that make sense to you? Real success is not found in ‘having much’ but in ‘loving much.’ It is not found in ‘great achievements’ but in ‘a great life.’ To love God deeply and to walk with Him is the greatest success there is. You say you love God? Then love Him a hundredfold more fervently than you do now. You say it has already been three years since you met God? Then walk with God not for three years but for 300. Enoch walked with God for three hundred years. God was so delighted with him that He took him home to His own house. Enoch went to heaven without tasting death. What a magnificent life! Gold and silver and jewels, land and buildings and cars are not your true treasure. To fear God and to love Him — that is your true treasure. “The fear of the LORD is His treasure.” (Isa. 33:6) Everything in this world passes away. Money and honor, power and buildings, academic pedigree and numbers — they all pass away. Do not boast in such things. Even if you earn all the money you want, even if you gain the world’s honor and power, its buildings and degrees and numbers, do not set your heart on them. Those things can all vanish in a single night. The Lord says, ‘Son, keep your whole heart on Me always, and love Me.’ I am not saying that God is going to take away everything you own. God is not a thief who kills and steals and destroys; He is the good Shepherd who gives life in abundance (John 10:10). He will give you even more blessing than you have now, and beyond that He will give you a hundredfold, a thousandfold. But God does not want you setting your heart on such things and broadcasting them. It is people who have succeeded a little who go around loudly advertising their success; the truly great success stories live quietly and hold everything loosely. Do not get carried away and brag because you have a little more than others. It is nothing. Do not lose heart because you have a little less than others. Almighty God the Father is able to give you everything you have asked for in a single day. ‘Son, do not worry. I will give it all in a single day.’ I have many dreams and desires, but I do not struggle and strain to make them happen, because the Holy Spirit said this to my heart: ‘Son, I will bring it all to pass in a single day.’ However great the thing you ask for may be, to almighty God it is as small as a drop in a bucket. He created the heavens and the earth and everything in them with a single word. So once you have prayed and asked, believe that you have received it, and place it in the hands of almighty God. Hold the faith that God will give it all in a single day. God really does give it all in a single day. Believe that you have already received it, fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and live happily. One day the Holy Spirit said this to my heart: ‘Son, when you talk with people, do not talk about your money, your family, your house, your car, your success. Money-family-house-car-success — those things are nothing compared with the gospel. They are all as small as dust. In heaven gold is paved on the streets. So do not boast in things; boast only in the gospel. All things are yours.’ Do not boast in money-family-house-car-success; boast in the gospel of Jesus Christ, who is actually alive inside you. To the Corinthian believers, who loved to boast, the apostle Paul said, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours” (1 Cor. 3:21). That is exactly right. If you sink the roots of your heart into money-family-house-car-success, you will fall over when the wind blows. Those things are nothing more than small gifts that the rich God hands His children. However many of them you have, there is no need to trumpet them and boast. Boasting comes out of a comparing heart. The moment you compare yourself with the people around you, you become proud or you lose heart. Stop comparing yourself with other people. “I bring in hundreds of millions a year. That person makes 880,000 won a month.” “I had many children and raised them well. That person still has no baby.” “I live in a spacious apartment. That person lives in a cramped little place.” “I even drive a nice car. That person drives a junk heap.” “I have made it. That person is still at the bottom.” Throw out all such thoughts and words. However great your success, there is always someone somewhere whose success is greater than yours.
